I think this is what really stood out to me about the GSB
It's this kind of humble brilliance that I really admire.

I figured you might enjoy this linked article; it touches on your
three favorite subjects (queeros, science, and fruit flies). Or, you
might be offended, and if you are, just grow a dick.
Tqueeros, science, and fruit flies

How can something so cold make me feel so garmie?
Mmm. I wish I was a kulfi photographer. What a job. At least if this whole MBA thing doesn't work out, I still have other passions.
Samia's baby
Heeheehee. How Taliban CUTE is that?!?!
Sometimes I say stupid things
And then I wonder if I should apologize. Ex: I had a gay friend in college, Benny. One Halloween one of our guy friends dressed up as a girl, and when I saw him, I laughed and said, "You make a beautiful faggot." And then I realized Benny was listening, and probably not appreciating what I had said. At moments like these, is it better to apologize, or to not make an issue of things?
I do dumb shit like this all the time. Last week, I told one of my coworkers that I wanted to drink the Ethidium Bromide in the lab so I wouldn't have to work anymore. EtBr is a mutagen. And then I remembered that her dad had prostate cancer about a year ago. Should I have said sorry I'm a dumbass, or nothing at all?
I never really mean anything mean. But I sound like it all the time. What to do?

If your success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all.

I have new friends!

Bay Area admit get together, Palo Alto. I like how there are only three white people. And I'm one of them.

Chicago Women in Business admit reception, San Francisco. Aren't I such a cute dorkus?

Admit Weekend, House of Blues, Chicago.
I found a hella cool cheap fare website.
But still no flight to Chicago, grr. I'm tempted to just pick a place online and sign a lease that way, instead of blowing another $1000 on a trip out there. But then the other night I was listening to this late night news talk program. The personality was talking about how depending on who is paying for his trip, he can end up in either really nice, or really shiesty places. One weekend in LA he was put up in this place that put Motel 6 to shame. On his way out the next morning he noticed a camera crew with the whole light set in one of the rooms. For sure this was a porn shooting, right? No, the hotel had hired this guy to stage and take pictures of one of their rooms. Sure enough, a couple of weeks later radio personality goes to expedia.com and searches for the hotel. Nice and ritzy, romantic lighting, egyptian sheets, plush rugs. Up from $47 to $129 a night.
I don't wanna sleep in an old porno apartment. So I guess I have to go.
Anyway, the cool website. At least its fun to play with:
The slidy bars are the best part!
Let's continue with another walk in the park:
So a girl I know, recently got into a prestigious grad-school. She has a nice Accord, and only two more years of payments. She has an amiable relationship with her parents.
Good set of friends. Good frozen meals to come home to.
Reflecting on her life the other day, she says, "I should start praying, because of how good he's been treating me."Copied, without Permission.
Did you know ...
The University of Chicago was the site of the world's first atomic reaction.
Glucose, Chocolate, Potatoes, and Steak: An Unconventional Recipe for Success
I used to love to write. But writing 30 something essays in 60 something days last winter just wrung me dry.
During an Introduction to the University class, Dr. Otis Madison, a guest speaker from the black studies department, said, “If you don’t think for yourselves, someone else is going to think for you.”
I thought a lot about everything when I wrote.
I realized that there were inequalities in the world that I did not yet understand. I realized that safety, which I had always regarded as a basic necessity, was for some people, a luxury. And I was glad my parents had given me the chance to belong.Sometimes it feels good to bleed. Other times I feel like a big old cheese.
However, when I drive up to his apartment Thursdays and Fridays after work and see him sitting outside, excitedly awaiting my arrival, I know that I have made an even stronger positive impact on his joy in living life. The only problem is, most people get queasy around blood, and even cheese eventually melts. So it’s hard to write just about the fluff of what makes everyday. But I'll try. Because now a days, I really like everyday.
And so I embark on this MBA journey blog. Remember to let me know if I forget to fluff, or if I fluff too much.
The weather was fantastic, and the mountains, speckled with brilliant cherry blossoms, were breathtaking. We hiked up to the crumbling wall, and then started climbing it. After about a mile, we stopped at the highest point that was safe to climb, and took a look around. As I gazed down at the rolling mountains, the gurgling streams, and the seemingly endless miles of the Great Wall, and as I felt the gentle sway of the crisp April air, I could not help but think how lucky I was to be standing in my shoes that day.And even luckier today.
