Missing home ...

I saw this S&TC quote in an email signature and it made me hellsa teary. I think it's finally been too long since I've been home. Only 24 more days left ...

Carrie: Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.

Some things that are going on ...

I know I haven't written much, but I'm smack dab in the middle of a LOT right now! Here is what I'm up to:

Just finished my first midterm, my second one is tomorrow morning, and my last one is next week.

I got invited to be part of a Google case competition!
This should be cool! Baji, if you have any suggestions or thoughts please let me know!

I'm moving to my new place this Saturday! I will be living here! This is pretty exciting for me because now I FINALLY get to buy a couch, TV, big mirror, and all the things that make home comfy! No more eating in bed Fizaa!

We are also meeting corporate representatives these next couple of weeks as they come out to our school to give presentations about their companies. Making a good impression is important - it can help you land an interview once they are back to hire in January/February. Apple is here next week to present some Finance and Operations roles ... this one promises to be fun!

Well, that's about all I can think of. Life is DEFinately on fast-forward right now ... I can't believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

Diwali Party

I went to a Diwali party the South Asia Business Group threw last weekend. I just noticed how all my friends there were white. Haha.

Actually, these are some of my Turkey buddies ... a very cool group. On the left is Jon, who was like our mom in Turkey, always having the directions, band-aids, patience. Next to him is Erin, my roommate on the trip. To my right is the infamous Patrick who got stiches while on the trip.

At the party they had samosas and kababs. I think I must have ate maybe 17 samosas and 7 kababs. Maybe that's why I have cholesterol.

Wishlist

Everything I want is non-monetary. Except for the kitties. I want someone to do my homework. I want a toaster. I just haven't had time to go get one. I want Shalimar. I want a really really good nap. I want a haircut from Stuart. I want pantyhose. I just haven't had time to get that either. I want to go to a Trader Joe's. I want free cab rides. I want to go to Costa Rica (I guess that costs money). I want a TV. Also no time. I want to watch the Grey's Anatomy I downloaded last week. I want these really good bagel sandwiches you get at the Bagel Cafe in IV. I want Taco Bell. I want to sleep in and smell fresh cut grass when I wake up on a Sunday. I want to get those pants I bought last week hemmed. I want to go shopping at the SF Macy*s shoe floor. And I want lots and lots of hugs.
